Better talent, better e-business

Since 1985, AMITA has been providing real world solutions for its clients. In addition, for several years it has held International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001 certification for its software development and customer support processes. Not just talk: e-service delivery

Ms. Preston is proud of her firm's accomplishments, but when asked to name the one thing she is most proud of, she replies "we adapt to our client's business methodology. Our clients feel we 'walk the talk' so to speak."

And AMITA has several key projects that back up that claim. In conjunction with Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC), AMITA developed ADMS (Appeals Delivery and Management System), the first web enabled Oracle business application for HRDC. ADMS is a front-line information management system that streamlines the appeal process for employment insurance.

For the past six years, AMITA has also worked with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade to develop COSMOS (Consular Management and Operations System). This bilingual work application is used in over 150 locations worldwide and is the world's first and only comprehensive global tracking and assistance delivery system for a federal government's consular services.

Taking it one step further

The most recent example of 'walking the talk' is the latest AMITA offering, iTravelSafe.com. Leveraging the experience built with COSMOS, AMITA is extending service delivery to citizens via the internet.

The government of Canada has long encouraged Canadians traveling for one to three months or more (dependent on location) to register with the embassy in that country. But now iTravelSafe.com allows its members to register no matter where they are going or for how long. iTravelSafe.com is a natural extension of COSMOS and is an innovative example of AMITA's ability to provide seamless e-business solutions.

"We took it one step further" Ms. Preston explains, "we combined services, products and information from governments and industry, to offer travelers the necessary tools to help ensure safety abroad." iTravelSafe.com offers its members travel advisories, e-mail alerts and links to travel products. Perhaps most importantly, when pre-authorized by the member, the registered travel plans and emergency contact information are accessible by the Canadian government and its embassies to provide assistance.

Keeping in touch

AMITA has built a solid reputation for excellence in client service over the last 15 years, but Ms. Preston emphasizes "It's a challenge... but its one we accept whole-heartedly. We want to ensure our clients are very satisfied with AMITA's service."
