Please note: Our focus is on showing RTMW as an effective tool to assist in saving patient lives by sharing
data among COIs.

Corresponding Capability To Be Demonstrated Within RTMW – IT5.52
CWID Objective 5
Net Centric Enterprise
Services.
5 (a)
improve information
assurance
RTMW will demonstrate the ability to protect patients privacy.

Patient functions (a
function for managing
information about a
patient)
5 (b)
improve horizontal data
access, fusion and
integration
RTMW will demonstrate the ability to enter and locate patients (and suspected) in an “All-Hazard”,
such as hurricane, pandemic and dirty bomb.
Patient functions
RTMW will demonstrate the ability to enter patient problems including trauma, treatment and
specimen information. This can save lives through timely and easily accessible medical data about
the patients.
Patient functions
RTMW will demonstrate the ability to enter, update and access patient data from any treatment/care
site, by field personnel, hospitals (from local to federal level).
Patient functions
RTMW will demonstrate the ability for NGO’s and Relief Agencies to locate patients with a restricted
view
Patient functions
RTMW will demonstrate the ability to display: the location, the nature of incident, the required
personal protective equipment (PPE), Hazard information (e.g. What to do if the incident is
radiological), the patients in the field and patients being transported to authorized Users
and interested COI’s.
Incident functions
(information about the
incident itself, eg. Ia
dirty bomb therefore
you must use this
protective equipment)

5 (c)
improve vertical and
horizontal information
distribution
Demonstrate the ability to locate patients (and suspected) in a “All-Hazard” situation such as,
Hurricane, Pandemic and Dirty Bomb
Patient functions
Demonstrate the ability to locate patients in the field, to assign patients for transport to
hospitals/alternate care facilities.

Demonstrate the ability for NGO’s and relief agencies to identify the patient’s location
Patient functions

Demonstrate the ability to access resource links for reference materiel relating to a chemical,
biological, radiological handbooks and other resource literature
Patient functions and
Incident functions

Demonstrate the ability to present information to responders that will protect themselves in a
hazardous situation such as a CBRN event;

3 (b)
improve logistics data
access, fusion and
integration among COIs
Demonstrate the ability for authorized users at different care sites being managed by different
groups and other COIs to access same incident data such as:
- number of patients in the field-number of patients in transport-patients by priority level (e.g.
Requiring urgent care)
- Incident location
Nature of incident-Protected equipment required and-Hazards

MSELS – total 48. Completing the identification of linked MSELS with all role players will be finalized
completing the creation of MSELs. AWG has reviewed the MSELs provided to date and we have been
informed that AMITA is well along the process and we meet their expectations.
MSELS have been reviewed through MPC by AWG in the US. AMITA can draw upon MSEL expertise in
Ottawa should it be required. AMITA will see AWG again at FPC.
